Salvation

"WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?"

 1. I must believe in Christ:

      A. I cannot please God without faith - Hebrews 11:6

      B. I am condemned if I do not believe - John 3:8

      C. All things in Christianity hinge on faith.

2. I must repent of my sins:

     A. Jesus preached repentance - Matthew 4:17 & Luke 13: 3,4

     B. The Apostles preached repentance - Acts 2:38 & 3:19

     C. Repentance is a change of mind that results in a change of action - Matthew 21: 28-30

3. I must confess:

     A. It is a public confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ - Romans 10:9,10

     B. I make this confession before others -

4. I must be baptized:

    A. Christ commanded it - Mark 16:15,16 - Matt. 28: 18-20

    B. If we love Him, we will keep His commandements - John 14:15

    C. The Spirit inspired apostles taught it - Acts 2:38 - Acts 8:35-38

    D. There is but one baptism - Eph. 4:5

    E. That would be immersion in water, that manner in which Jesus was immersed - Matt 3:16

    F. Paul makes it very clear that baptism is a "burial" - Rom. 6:4, 5, 7 Colossians 2:12

5. I must be faithful unto death:

    A. See Revelation 2:10 - Matt 10:22 - Hebrews 3:12-14

When you have accepted God's grace (unmerited favor) through Jesus Christ, as we have outlined, forgiveness of sins is yours.  You will never have to face those sins again (Hebrews 8:12). You have the promise of everlasting life and the hope of heaven is yours.
